Can Jordan's Principle Pay for Tutoring in Bamfield?
Jordan's Principle can pay for tutoring for an eligible First Nations child with a specific need, including Huu-ay-aht children in Anacla and Bamfield. Indigenous Services Canada decides each request. You'll need a letter of support and a detailed cost breakdown, and we write out the cost breakdown for you. Our Jordan's Principle tutoring guide covers who can apply and how.
Huu-ay-aht First Nations also lists tutoring among the supports its health and social services team offers, so it's worth asking there too.
Bamfield Community School has taught high school since 2022. Before that, teens from Bamfield and Anacla boarded in Port Alberni to finish school. In 2025-26 it had 11 secondary students across Grades 8 to 12, so a senior student may be the only one in the building taking Chemistry 11 or Pre-calculus 12. A tutor gives them someone to work through it with.
Bamfield Main is 76 km of road to Port Alberni, chip-sealed in 2023 and still an active industrial road. Online sessions skip the drive.
