Where Can I Find a Tutor in Tofino or Ucluelet?
RISE Alberni tutors Tofino and Ucluelet students online, one-on-one, over Microsoft Teams. Sessions work on a phone, tablet, or laptop and cost $60, the same as in person in Port Alberni. Tutors cover math, science, reading, and writing from kindergarten to Grade 12, and one specializes in Orton-Gillingham for dyslexia.

How Far Is the Nearest Tutor?
Highway 4 is the only road between the west coast and the rest of Vancouver Island, and Port Alberni is about an hour and a half away. When we searched in September 2026, we found no K-12 tutoring business based in Tofino or Ucluelet. The tutoring sites that list the coast are online marketplaces run from elsewhere.
Families here already drive to Port Alberni for a lot. West Coast General Hospital's emergency department treats patients from Tofino and Ucluelet, and speech-language referrals for young children on the coast go to Port Alberni's health unit. Tutoring doesn't have to be one more trip.

Online. West coast students work one-on-one with a tutor in Port Alberni over Microsoft Teams, so nobody drives Highway 4.
Can you help a child with ADHD, dyslexia, or autism online?
Yes. Our Orton-Gillingham specialist tutors online, and so do our other tutors, many of whom have tutored online before.
Can Jordan's Principle pay for tutoring?

A device that can get online: a phone, tablet, or laptop. Sessions run on Microsoft Teams.

No. K-12 sessions are $60 online or in person, or $55 each when you prepay for two or more.
